FAQsHere is a list of frequently asked questions with the relevant answers to help you make an informed decision. Are you licensed investigators? How much will it cost and how do I pay? Can you access phone records or texts? Can you access criminal records? Where in New Zealand can you operate? Can you undertake work in Australia or the Pacific Islands? Are hidden cameras legal in New Zealand? Can a Private Detective locate anyone? Can I call you for some free advice? Are you licensed investigators? Yes, all of our associates and agents hold their individual PI License and our Principal Rod Moratti is Licenced to the New Zealand Courts (PI Licence Number 725327). This is important because the license system regulates who can operate in the industry and ensures that we are trustworthy and upstanding citizens. We are also members of the NZIPI (New Zealand Institute of Professional Investigators Inc).
How much will it cost and how do I pay? Surveillance costs NZ$85 per hour plus mileage, any expenses and GST for one agent and if we need two or more agents the rate drops to NZ$75 per hour (multiplied by the number of agents). Investigation and enquiry work is charged at NZ$150 per hour plus mileage, any expenses and GST. Payment is easy, either by PayPal, Internet banking, Western Union or any other method that suits you. If paying by PayPal you just go to www.paypal.com and click 'send money' then you can pay via your PayPal account or using your credit card to rod@moratti.co.nz If you have not used PayPal before we can send a money request to your email address to make things easier. Every task is different so it is not possible to list all costs and fees here. Simply contact us and begin the process. We will be up front with you and on many occasions it will be possible to set fees. You will only have to deal with one contact person and your information is held with utmost confidentiality. Contact us Can you access phone records or texts? No we can't. The tel-cos' will not make that information available and the Privacy Act prevents us from accessing text or phone record information. However we are experienced at obtaining information in other ways so feel free to contact us and Rod will assess your case and advise the best action to take. Can you access criminal records? In New Zealand only the individual can obtain their own criminal history. In other words, if you are not the person or you don't have their cooperation to complete the Ministry of Justice forms then we can't obtain that information. For more information see here. Where in New Zealand do you operate? We operate in every part of New Zealand including (but not restricted to) Kaitaia, Bay of Islands, Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, New Plymouth, Rotorua, Taupo, Gisborne, Palmerston North, Wellington, Blenheim, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown, Invercargill and West Coast. We also work in all Pacific Islands including Fiji, Samoa, Rarotonga and many others.

How do you follow people? Often vehicular surveillance is carried out utilising two cars and the agents are in contact via radio, often changing positions behind the target vehicle to avoid detection and ensure a successful operation. On foot or in public places like the street, bars, cafes and restaurants we blend in easily and can often be alongside the target listening to conversations or observing activity whilst remaining completely unnoticed.
Top Can a Private Detective locate anyone? Given an unlimited budget we can pretty much locate anyone on the planet. Although that is a rare scenario, we do regularly locate individuals in other countries for clients. Because of our vast experience in the business we are able to guarantee that we will locate anyone in New Zealand. We use sound investigative skills along with local knowledge of people and places, contacts and ingenuity. Find out more

How can I become a PI? Because we operate a boutique, personable, effective agency the idea of too many magnifying glasses or gun scopes in our brand was not appropriate. We prefer to stay below the radar and maintain a natural camouflage...much like the bug. |
