Missing Persons / Adoption

Tracing Missing Persons is generally required when clients have been a party to an adoption and wish to find another party (a birth parent or child) to that adoption, or for any other legal reason.

Scenarios that have led to us locating people have been to locate-

a birth parent
a child who was adopted out
a long lost love or friend
a family member for reasons such as a death in the family
someone who has been named as an inheritor in a will
a debtor or guarantor
a defendant or respondent for a court case or to serve legal documents
someone who may be the subject of a news item or documentary
someone who has been threatening an organisation or individual

If you are seeking pre-adoptive information you may need to apply for a pre-adoptive birth certificate. This is available through The Department of Internal Affairs - Births Deaths and Marriages. For forms and other information including vetoes, click here.

Once we locate a missing person we will discuss options with you and no contact will be made until circumstances have been discussed in full. We have a lengthy history of dealing with adoption cases and as such are completely aware of any emotions that may be running for all parties.
